Inmate Programs

Our inmate programs are designed to provide incarcerated men and women with the spiritual, personal, and professional skills to navigate life behind bars and prepare for a successful return to their communities.

These classes are designed to bring members of local communities inside prison walls to do life alongside these men and women – whether that be for a church service, a class on racial reconciliation, or a softball game.

Take a look at some of our inside programs below and find the class schedule for each of our locations here.

Experience weekend Crossroads services inside prisons in Ohio. Men and women across the state are joining the Crossroads community each week as they come together to worship and experience weekly services.

The first course in the “Four-Seven” course curriculum, this 20-week course teaches a combination of professional, personal and spiritual skills to participants.

A five-week spiritual journey, bringing people together for meaningful conversation and experiences that can lead to growth and healing the racial divide in our city.

What would it look like to have a one-day retreat that took a deep dive into what it looks like to be men and women of God? Quest is an all-day event that is structured around strengthening community, learning to lean on our community and learning just exactly what God expects of us. Whether it is a group of women spending the day understanding where God calls us to find our identity or a group of men learning how to harness their wildness to glorify God, Quest strips away our worldly attributes and takes us back to our roots as children of God.

For people wrestling with who God is, whether or not He exists, and what it would mean to say “yes” to relationship with Jesus. A time to ask questions, process and relate in a small group setting. This course is offered not only to general population offenders, but also to restrictive housing inmates.

Each year, thousands of people from churches across the region served the homeless, prayed with the broken, painted schools, cleaned neighborhoods and helped make a difference to hundreds of deserving organizations. Go! Prison allows The Four-Seven to bring this amazing event inside the prison walls.

A three-day retreat inside prison walls, Go! Prison is a deep dive into figuring out who God calls us to be as men and women of faith. Friday consists of a speaker conference and small groups, Saturday includes a concert and work project, and the retreat culminates Sunday with a Crossroads service and worship.

Participants will learn ways to establish and maintain healthy relationships, examine the roles and responsibilities of being a responsible family member and better understand the role feelings play in day-to-day life. This Interactive Journal helps prepare individuals to make the most of their first few months in transition.

In Responsible Thinking, participants are encouraged to examine eight basic thinking errors that lead to criminal behavior. This Journal stresses the way individuals can change how they think in order to alter irresponsible attitudes and behaviors and helps them replace faulty thinking with more responsible thinking.

The Managing My Life Journal focuses on skills needed for successful living in the community. Financial responsibility, time management, legal issues, employment and coping skills are covered. Each participant completes a personal transition plan and works on developing 10 healthy habits as they enter a new phase in their lives.

Relapse Prevention provides participants with the tools they need to identify the pattern of relapse and to interrupt that pattern before they slip back into criminogenic behaviors. Each participant identifies personal relapse warning signs and completes a relapse prevention plan that will help him or her maintain motivation for responsible living.

The Change Plan Journal is aimed at helping individuals develop workable plans to avoid further criminal behavior. Based on the Transtheoretical Model, it incorporates proven strategies for positive life change. Participants are given a consistent message that positive change is possible, and they are responsible for making it happen.

Family Support

This is a group of encouragement and spiritual support for the family and friends with someone that is incarcerated, jailed and/or has a criminal record. Family and friends of the incarcerated experience disappointment, heartache and embarrassment.

We will share the effects the loved one has had on our family and present a focus of recognizing God has a plan for each one of us. We will explore how to utilize God’s word to guide us in Forgiveness, Understanding and Hope.

During this journey, we will lift up those we love with a criminal history. Recognizing the sensitivity of this issue, this will be a confidential group.

Together, we will begin our healing. Together, we will smile and hopefully have a laugh or two.

The Four-Seven Families support group meets at 6pm on the first Wednesday of every month.
